TORONTO (December 11, 2012) Citytv celebrates the New Year with a hot slate of 2013 mid-season premiere dates announced today. Featuring eight new and seven returning hit series, Citytv keeps the laughs – and momentum – going beginning Sunday, Jan. 6 with new original comedies, critically lauded dramas, and perennial hits.

Adding to Citytv’s acclaimed library of laughs comes a collection of soon-to-be family favourites from some of the industry’s brightest creative minds. From the creators of How I Met Your Mother and New Girl hails the warm family comedy The Goodwin Games, and the unconventional First Family in 1600 Penn from the laugh-makers of Modern Family. Then, bringing viewers an all-new spin on a full house, Citytv welcomes How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life) to the mid-season schedule. Plus, Mondays get even bigger when the Biggs move into their new home on Citytv with the network premiere and new episodes of Mike & Molly, while Citytv’s original new comedies Seed and Package Deal make their hotly anticipated series debuts.

New to the mid-season lineup are fresh twists on past favourites with the premieres of the imaginative new dramas The Carrie Diaries and Hannibal. How did Carrie Bradshaw get her start? And who was the man behind Hannibal before the world knew his name? Citytv tells their stories each week this winter.

Rounding out the mid-season lineup are returning cult hit Community, Cougartown’s “cul-de-sac crew,” couples comedy Rules of Engagement, medical drama Body of Proof, and reality TV favourite The Biggest Loser. Additionally, epic adventure series Revolution, from Hollywood heavyweights J.J. Abrams and Eric Kripke, makes its long-awaited uprising from hiatus.

Plus, airing exclusively on OMNI Television, southern-charmer Sean Lowe embarks on his own search for love in Season 17 of The Bachelor. From Lake Louise, AB, to Thailand, Sean is prepared to travel far and wide to find lasting love with one of 25 beautiful bachelorettes.

NEW COMEDIES

Seed *Citytv Original Series*
Mondays at 8:30 p.m.
Seed tells the story of Harry (Adam Korson, 2 Broke Girls), a single, underachieving bachelor/bartender who finds his earlier foray into the world of sperm donation has resulted in kids – lots of them. Seed follows Harry as he reluctantly begins a relationship with three unique and separate recipient families – a laid-back lesbian couple with a nine-year-old son, a neurotically hopeful single mom-to-be, and an up-tight, upper-class family with a rebellious teenage daughter – with whom he’ll come to share more than just his DNA. Created by Joseph Raso (Zombies & Cheerleaders), Seed is executive produced by award-winning writer and producer Mark Farrell (This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Made in Canada, Corner Gas), and is produced by Force Four Entertainment.

How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life)
Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. (s)
Polly (Sarah Chalke, Mad Love, Scrubs) is a single mom who's been divorced for almost a year. Unable to thrive in this struggling economy, she and her daughter, Natalie (Rachel Eggleston), have moved back home with her eccentric parents, Elaine (Elizabeth Perkins, Weeds) and Max (Brad Garrett, Everybody Loves Raymond, ‘Til Death). Only Polly and her parents look at life through two different lenses – Polly’s too uptight, and her parents are too laid back. Polly’s conservative when it comes to dating, while her parents are still sexually adventurous. But now, with help from her best friend Gregg (Orlando Jones, Rules of Engagement), her loveable yet irresponsible ex-husband Julian (Jon Dore, The Jon Dore Show), and her cool assistant Jenn (Rebecca Delgado Smith), Polly is taking her first steps toward getting a life, starting with a social one.

1600 Penn
Premieres Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. (Moves to Fridays at 9 p.m. starting Jan. 25)
The Gilchrists are just the average American family dealing with everyday issues – with one exception: they live in the White House. Never a dull moment to be had, stepmom Emily (Jenna Elfman, Dharma and Greg) desperately tries to win over the kids. First Son Skip (Josh Gad, star of Broadway sensation The Book of Mormon) is one of the administration's biggest liabilities – but also the glue that holds the family together – and President Dale Gilchrist (Bill Pullman, Independence Day) knows all too well that the only thing harder than being Head of State is being head of the family.

Package Deal *Citytv Original Series*
Date TBC
Package Deal follows three overly-close brothers and the woman who comes between them. Kim (Julia Voth, Bitch Slap) thinks she’s found the love of her life in successful lawyer Danny (Randal Edwards, Degrassi: The Next Generation, The Killing) only to discover that his two eccentric and intrusive older brothers come with the deal. Sheldon (Harland Williams, There’s Something About Mary) is a chauvinistic salesman while the neurotic Ryan (Jay Malone, Monk) has recently been dumped by his wife. Created by Emmy®-nominated producer Andrew Orenstein (Malcolm in the Middle, 3rd Rock from the Sun), Package Deal is produced by Thunderbird Films.

The Goodwin Games
Date TBC
Three grown siblings, Henry (Scott Foley, Felicity), Chloé (Becki Newton, Ugly Betty), and Jimmy (Jake Lacy, Better With You), return home after their father's death and unexpectedly find themselves poised to inherit a vast fortune – as long as they adhere to their late father's wishes. Pulling the strings from beyond the grave, the children's late father, Benjamin (guest star Beau Bridges, The Descendants) has left behind a series of unique challenges. Through these tasks, Benjamin hopes he can get his children to rediscover their true selves and learn the lessons he failed to instill in them while he was alive. Their potential reward? More than 20 million dollars.

NEW DRAMAS

The Carrie Diaries
Mondays at 10 p.m. (s)
It's 1984, and life isn't easy for 16-year-old Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb, Soul Surfer). Since their mother passed away, Carrie's younger sister Dorritt (Stefania Owen, Running Wilde) is more rebellious than ever, and their father Tom (Matt Letscher, Scandal) is overwhelmed with the responsibility of suddenly having to care for two teenage girls on his own. Struggling to move on from her grief, Carrie jumps at the chance to intern at a law firm in Manhattan. Her eyes are instantly opened wide at the glamour and grit of New York City, and while her friends and family may hold a big place in her heart, Carrie’s fallen in love for the first time with the most important man in her life – Manhattan.

Hannibal
Date TBC
One of the most fascinating literary characters comes to life on television for the first time: psychiatrist-turned-serial-killer, Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Will Graham (Hugh Dancy, The Big C) is a gifted criminal profiler who is on the hunt for a serial killer with the FBI. His unique way of thinking gives him the astonishing ability to empathize with anyone – even psychopaths. But when the mind of the twisted killer he's pursuing proves to be too complicated for even Graham to comprehend, he enlists the help of Dr. Lecter, one of the premier psychiatric minds in the country. Armed with the uncanny expertise of the brilliant doctor, Will and Hannibal form a brilliant partnership, and it seems there's no villain they can't catch.
