“Welcome to the Downtown Eastside”
Led by 20-year veteran Sgt. Toby Hinton and adrenaline junkie Sgt. Mark Steinkampf, The Beatfollows the intersecting stories of six police officers who live for the street.  In this Season 2 premiere episode, the officers take time out from their busy street patrol to give a group of teenage hockey players a tour of “skid row” where they encounter the harsh realities of addiction, homelessness and crime.  At a nearby rooming house, other B.E.T. members are hot on the heels of a drug bust, but hidden cameras, fortified doors, and escape routes help the dealers stay a step ahead.

“Missing”: 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, 8:30 p.m. CT, 10:30 p.m. MT
When details emerge of a young man’s disappearance from a Gastown bar, the squad hits the streets in hopes of reuniting him with his family before the holidays. Meanwhile, Sergeant Toby Hinton organizes an evening of hot yoga to promote team-building within the unit.

“Hope”: 10 p.m. ET/PT, 9 p.m. CT, 11 p.m. MT
The team’s holiday spirit is put to the test when an apparent pipe beating turns out to be a more serious case of domestic abuse. On the other end of town, Sergeant Steinkampf is stuck behind a desk at the district jail, patiently awaiting his reassignment to the Beat Enforcement Team.

“Welfare Wednesday”: 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, 9:30 p.m. CT, 11:30 p.m. MT
When word comes in of a suspected abduction, the officers believe it is over an unpaid drug debt. Meanwhile, Sergeant Hinton films an emotional interview with a longtime Eastside resident, in hopes that her story will prevent other youth from being lured into a life of drug abuse.
