When Lily and Marshall realize that Robin and Barney are the perfect double-date friends, they try too hard to impress and come on too strong, forcing Barney and Robin to try to break up with them.

Boone’s (Derek Luke) marital problems take a back seat to a mad gunman who goes on a shooting rampage inside an office building. The incident forces Rabbit (Cliff Curtis) and Nancy (Anastasia Griffith) to work together for the first time in over a year to treat the injured hostages. Meanwhile, Marisa (Aimee Garcia) realizes she’s more like Rabbit than she would care to admit. Kevin Rankin, Taylor Kinney and Jamey Sheridan also star. Scottie Thompson and Ryan Michelle Bathe guest star.

Week five on the ranch kicks off with contestants getting the news that they’re all going to be joining either trainer Jillian Michaels’ black team or Bob Harper’s blue team. But the bigger news from host Alison Sweeney is that whoever wins this week’s temptation gets to make the critical decision of which contestant goes on which team. And when one person wins that much power, all of the contestants are worried about being potentially separated from the partner who has been with them since the beginning
of their weight-loss journey. Later, a challenge tests the contestants’ ability to work together in their newly-formed teams, and one player gives another a very special gift. Then a weigh-in leads to a tough elimination, sending another player home.

Jack (Alec Baldwin) informs Liz (Tina Fey), Tracy (Tracy Morgan) and Jenna (Jane Krakowski) that “TGS” needs to make immediate adjustments to become more relatable. In an effort to do their part, Jenna (Krakowski) decides to makeover her image, while Tracy (Morgan) attempts to regain touch with the common man. In the meantime, Jack sends Liz (Fey) and Pete (Scott Adsit) on a mission to scout new “TGS” talent while Kenneth (Jack McBrayer) leads a Page strike. Judah Friedlander and Keith Powell also star.
