- Eight $1,000 grants available for public and private elementary and middle schools within the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley -
(Vancouver, November 7, 2011) Breakfast Television Vancouver is bringing back its Be There For Schools initiative, helping fund special projects and much-needed supplies for eight lucky elementary or middle schools within the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. Since 2009, the Be There for Schools grant initiative has helped more than 20 schools better their learning environments by providing funding for everything from food to computers, books, sport and band equipment, and more. As in previous years, a total of eight $1,000 grants will be awarded to winning schools through the program.
Open to public and private schools, the Be There for Schools program is currently accepting nominations for the next eight finalists. Individual or groups of teachers, students, parents or administrators who wish to nominate their school must first obtain permission from the school principal or school board. Entrants are encouraged to describe the need for the money at their school. Creative entries are welcome, but not necessary. A Citytv representative randomly selects eight finalists, each of whom will be featured on a Breakfast Television Vancouver segment in Spring 2012.
Nominations for the 2012 program can be sent to Bethereforschools@btvancouver.ca. Submissions are restricted to one entry per school.
