Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) research how to conceive a baby with the gender of their choice. Meanwhile, Robin (Cobie Smulders) is growing more and more irritated by her perky new co-anchor.

When an earthquake hits, Claire (Julie Bowen) gets stuck in the bathroom with the plumber; Manny (Rico Rodriguez) experiences an existential crisis while out with Jay (Ed O’ Neill); Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) use the quake as an excuse to get out of a party thrown by a friend (guest star Nathan Lane, The Producers).

Dean Pelton (Jim Rash) decides that Greendale Community College must have its own flight simulator and cannot be bested by the competition, “City College,” which is planning its own flight simulator. He enlists the study group to clean and refurbish the Greendale Community College simulator. As Jeff (Joel McHale), Pierce (Chevy Chase), Britta (Gillian Jacobs), Annie (Alison Brie), Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) and Troy (Donald Glover) wash the tattered simulator down, they end up accidentally launching it – sending everyone on an unexpected journey into “outer space.” Abed (Danny Pudi) is left behind to try and navigate a safe “return” for everyone.

When Avery (guest star Elizabeth Banks, Zach and Miri Make a Porno) points out the peculiarity of Jack (Alec Baldwin) and Liz's (Tina Fey) bond, he vows to set some boundaries. With Jack keeping his distance, Liz is left to deal with her father’s (guest star Buck Henry) attempt to recapture his youth during a visit. Meanwhile, Tracy (Tracy Morgan) enlists Kenneth’s (Jack McBrayer) help to reinvent himself after viewing his own pre-produced video obituary.

Start 2011 off on a high note with the 26th annual Citytv New Year’s Bash LIVE from Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto. Tune in to Citytv for one of the biggest New Year’s celebrations in Canada, this year’s outdoor, free-concert is hosted by Citytv personalities Gord Martineau, Tracy Moore, Kevin Frankish and Dina Pugliese. The biggest night of the year heats up as Citytv counts down to midnight with performances by some of the hottest names in music including, Shawn Desman, Danny Fernandes, Stereos, These Kids Wear Crowns, Divine Brown and Blake McGrath. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (s/ABC): Sunday, January 2 at 8pm ET/PT (7pm CT, 9pm MT)
“The Grommesh Family”
The inspiring 10-year-old, wheelchair bound Garrett Grommesh from Moorhead, Minnesota is ecstatic when he finds out that Ty and the design team will be giving his family a new home that will be handicapped accessible. Since their old home is in good enough shape for another family to live in, Garret asks if he could pay forward his good fortune so that his classmate, Arlinda Hajdari, and her family could receive their former home. The challenge is on, as the EM: HE team, builders and volunteers work twice as hard to get not one but two homes move-in ready in just seven days.
