CityNews Awarded Gemini for Best Breaking News Coverage

(Toronto – November 3, 2010) CityNews was awarded a Gemini in the category of Best Breaking News Coverage at last night’s industry gala that took place at the Kool Haus Entertainment Complex in Toronto and honoured the best in the industry.

The CityNews team of Tina Cortese, Katia Del Col, Ramneek Gill, Kathleen O’Keefe and Amar Sodhi, were recognized at last night’s ceremony for their coverage of the F2 tornado that rocked the community of Vaughan in 2009. CityNews producer Amar Sodhi and Meteorologist Michael Kuss accepted the Gemini on behalf of Citytv, dedicating it to all of the people who lost their homes and to the young man who lost his life in the tragedy.
