On-Air Team Announced for CityNews Winnipeg, Launching Sept. 4

– Lisa Charleyboy, Stefanie Lasuik, Erica Natividad, Mark Neufeld, Courtney Rutherford, and Sarolta Saskiw join CityNews Winnipeg as on-air team –

WINNIPEG (August 3, 2017) Beginning Monday, Sept. 4, CityNews Winnipeg is set to keep local residents up-to-speed on the latest news that matters most. Winnipeggers will get a revitalized approach to local news with one-hour newscasts, broadcast seven days a week at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. local time.

Out from behind the news desk and in the community, Video Journalists seeking out the hyper-local stories that matter most to Winnipeggers will power the CityNews nightly broadcasts.

“With CityNews, we’re excited to be adding a new voice to the local news community,” said Laura Lewandoski, Supervising Producer, City Winnipeg. “Taking a different approach and adding a fresh perspective to local stories, CityNews is set to break the mould of traditional news in this city.”

Meet the CityNews Winnipeg Team:

Lisa Charleyboy – Named by Huffington Post as a top Aboriginal Millennial to watch, Charleyboy is a well-known media personality, writer, and storyteller. While currently completing her Executive MBA at Simon Fraser University, she is also editor-in-chief of Urban Native Magazine.

Stefanie Lasuik – With a Bachelor of Communications from the University of Winnipeg, Lasuik has been honoured with the Jack Matheson award for excellence in journalism and sports reporting.

Erica Natividad – Currently a television host with Wheeler in the Morning, Natividad will continue to engage Winnipeggers with the local buzz on CityNews. Natividad began her broadcasting career at Rogers tv in 2009 as a lifestyle reporter, host, and producer.

Mark Neufeld – Neufeld is an award-winning director, producer, and editor who began his own production company after completing his studies at the University of Manitoba. Currently a host with Wheeler in the Morning, Neufeld is excited to continue his passion for storytelling with CityNews.

Courtney Rutherford – A lifelong resident of Winnipeg with a passion for storytelling, Rutherford is an experienced video journalist, most recently having worked in writing and as an anchor with CBC Manitoba and TBT News.

Sarolta Saskiw – Originally from a small town in Alberta, Saskiw decided to take her career global when she accepted a journalism internship in Accra, Ghana. Upon her return home, Saskiw gained experience as a video journalist with Global News and CTV News.

Seven days a week, viewers can catch one-hour newscasts packed with the latest updates on local stories with CityNews at Six at 6 p.m. and CityNews Tonight at 11 p.m. local time.
